What RM Auctions calls Europe's biggest and best collector car auction will take place between 08 and 09 September in London, UK.
After we had a look through the lots of vintage cars that will be available at the aforementioned event we noticed there's quite a great deal of Mercedes-Benz classics which will try to exchange ownership by choosing between the highest bidders.

We couldn't find anything that has chances to beat the all-time record price for a car, set by the W196 racing car just weeks ago, but there are lots of beautiful and most of all rare three-pointed star models in the lots list available on the RM Auctions website for the event.

Out of the ones we went through, the most interesting one seems to be a rather rare 1957 300 SL racing car, which will be auctioned without reserve.

The story of the 300 SLS is pretty peculiar, since it wasn't a model made officially by Mercedes-Benz, and no two cars are alike.

After the Stuttgart manufacturer exited motorsport competitions in 1955 and also retired their 300 SLR program, a great deal of racing teams and even amateur racing pilots started to modify 300 SL road cars in order to compete with them. Not much is known about the model depicted, but we do know it is part of those customer-built line of cars.
