So far, we've seen both the Porsche 918 Spyder and the GT3 RS PDK in tons of hues and liveries, but the Riviera Blue combo you can find in the image gallery below comes with such a strong eye candy factor, that we simply had to share it with you.
The two rare Porschas were present at the Pelican Parts (a Porsche and BMW parts specialist) Cars and Coffee event in California, on March 23. Both machines come from Pacific Porsche, a Los Angeles dealer that had also brought other Zuffenhausen machines to the event, which were pretty much overshadowed by this pair.
As wild as the 918 is, the Rennsport Neunelfer next to it still managed to provide just as much shine, as we can see in the photos coming from BBi Autosport (you guessed it, this is a Porsche specialist too, handling aftermarket work).
Then again, it's not difficult to understand the fascination around the GT3 RS' look. As you know, the 911 has always been about an understated appearance and the GT3 RS, with its wide stance, huge wing and eye-catching elements such as the front wing air extractors, throws all that out the window.
Sure, Porsche designers pulled the tricks above in order to allow the track-savvy 911 to generate its massive downforce, but the result is the kind that keeps one awake at night.
In fact, you can notice how, in these images, the focus is placed on the GT3 RS, not the halo car. And no, this doesn't have to do with the fact that 918 Spyder production ceased in June last year.
And while we haven't had enough 911 R spotting episodes for the GT3 RS to lose its attention king status, we might just have to wait for the yet-unrevealed GT2 to grab that role.
