When you hear the Rinspeed name, you instantly think at original automotive creations that seem to be coming from another world. The Swiss company is now introducing a new development, in the form of the Bamboo concept, which will make its debut at next year’s Geneva Auto Show.

We are dealing with an open top vehicle that uses simple lines and is aimed at offering an eco-conscious motoring alternative.

Rinspeed’s concept cars use names that have a real connections to certain assets offered by them. This rule also applies for the company’s latest creation. We must tell you that that many interior components are made from bamboo fibers.

The vehicle offers four seats and gives its passenger the opportunity to enjoy a free-air ride. The Swiss company tells us that the creation is aimed at bringing back the free spirit of the 70s’.

“This open-top vehicle awakens the longing for sun, summer, for lightness and easiness, the desire to be at the beach. It is a reminiscence of the Seventies, of the south of France and St. Tropez. And one would expect to find Brigitte Bardot behind the wheel with playboy Gunther Sachs at her side heading towards Tahiti beach,” stated the press release.

As for the tech part, the vehicle follows the current eco trend, using electric propulsion. In addition to that, the concept also comes with an on-board foldable two-wheeler.

Anyone not blinded by horsepower orgies, chrome tinsel and top-speed frenzy should take a closer look. “BamBoo” pushes the ‘reset’ button, clears the mind for a new way of thinking. It sports simple, clean lines. No bells, no whistles.  Nothing is superfluous. Plain aesthetics in their purest form. As stated before and even in a figurative sense: Nomen est omen. Simply bamboo,” stated the press release.
