Widely known for building some of the greatest custom classics, the Ring Brothers continue to sell their creations for big bucks. The most recent bespoke vehicle to fetch a six sum figure is the 1964 Ford Fairlane “Afterburner”, which sold for no less than $225,000 at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction this weekend.
Introduced at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the “Afterburner” features a carbon fiber and billet aluminum body and a 427 cubic inch V8 engine that cranks out 560 horsepower and 540 pound-feet of torque.
Other highlights include a bespoke dashboard, a Master Shift paddle system for the Oldsmobile steering wheel, custom built headers and pipes with Flowmaster mufflers and many more. In addition, the custom musclecar has less than 1,000 miles on its odometer.
And if $225,000 seems like a lot to you, do consider that several Mustangs built by the Ring Brothers sold for more than $250,000 each in the past.
