Riding a Unicycle Down a Dam Spillway Doesn't Sound Like a Good Idea

Meet Flaviu Cernescu, a Romanian daredevil that also juggles and rides a unicycle in places one expect the least. Also, you might run into him in cities around the world, walking a slackline suspended dozens of feet in the air between the roofs of tall buildings.
Also, you should not be surprised to see the Transylvania Dragon (you should definitely watch this movie) climbing industrial chimneys hundreds of meters tall, or watching him in any other places and circumstances that would make the blood rush through the veins and the head spin.

And because Flaviu is constantly looking for more challenges, he put dams on his thrills list years ago. After highlining across a dam's drain hole in a not-exactly-legal manner (you didn't hear that from us), the Transylvania Dragon thought that going down should be just as exciting as going up. So a 40-degree spillway was next.

Now, Cernescu is an authentic master of the unicycle, so it's not hard to guess what was his first choice. This descent may look like a piece of cake with him on that monocycle, but there were a lot of things that could have gone wrong.

As you can see, Flaviu had to swerve around some pretty large boulders left on the spillway and hitting one could have brought the ride to an early and most likely bitter end. Jumping from the seat of the unicycle and landing on a 40-degree slope full of rocks that await for the slightest impulse to tumble down the concrete ramp certainly doesn't seem like the best way to spend the afternoon.

Also, considering that unicycles aren't exactly race machines with brakes designed to withstand prolonged hard use. Flavius said that the rotor was beginning to turn red at the bottom of the spillway, and we're thankful he did not get into any trouble caused by heat-induced brake fade.

Check out Transylvania Dragon's Facebook page for more crazy footage and photos. Can't help wondering what would be next if he one day started to ride motorcycles...
