The Ball of Death is one spectacular motorcycle stunt involving exceptional timing and leaving absolutely no room for hesitations or mistakes. These South American riders showed their awesome routine at the Chimelong International Circus in China, but things did not go as planned.
Seeing these daredevils upgrading the Ball of Death act and adding a mind-boggling level of danger to the whole thing is really breathtaking, but watching one of these fellows crash is not exactly the best entertainment.
As if having 6 riders inside the spherical metal cage was not enough already, this particular Ball of Death became tenfold more dangerous as it becomes separated in three segments. While the guys in the lower sector had a good grip and gravity more or less on their side, the remaining three fellows in the middle section have an even more difficult task.
While at first, they had to throttle hard to defeat gravity, and ride at constant speed so they would not hit each other, the separation of the middle section of the cage also leaves them with a very narrow “track” to ride on.
It’s hard to tell whether the second of the upper riders did touch the front one’s rear tire, but I’d say he didn’t. Either way, it’s really good to see the fellow walking away from this crash.
