This is one weird bike crash movie, because the rider seems to crash for no apparent reason, without being hindered by the cars in front of him, as we first thought.
Watching the movie several times we've noticed the camera car is in the second lane and makes no maneuvers, so the biker must have had other reasons. Most likely the cause for this altogether nasty spill is mixing excessive speed (compared to skills) with insufficient skills for the present predicament.
In this situation leaning to the left could have been by far a better solution. Judging upon his speed, the rider could have leaned quite a lot and still get enough grip to keep his lane and pass unharmed. From the camera angle it looks like there was enough space there for pretty much any maneuver, and the “brake hard then fall” choice was in fact the worst decision, by far.
