Richard Mille’s RM60-01 Regatta Les Voiles de Saint Barth Celebrates Sailing

Believe it or not, there’s a mesmerizing race that is currently on its 6th edition, and it has nothing to do with cars. In fact, it’s a sailing competition that takes place every year in the beautiful waters of the Caribbean. It ended two days ago, but we stumbled upon a beautiful, luxury timepiece that was specially created for the occasion. And we’d like to talk about it for a second.

Richard Mille claims the principles and values of yachting are a perfect reflection of their philosophy, which is based on a combination of extreme performance, cutting-edge technology, a clear artistic vision and respect for watchmaking tradition.

Driven by an automatic flyback chronograph caliber in grade 5 titanium this watch facilitates navigation thanks to its unique rotating bezel featuring a wind rose and graduated 360 degrees 24-hour disc.

The position of the sun in the sky and the local time will be the main indicators making this puppy tic. “By simply pointing the UTC hand at the sun and adjusting the local time on the bezel, the latter will indicate the compass points in both the northern and southern hemispheres without the need for any additional calculation,” Richard Mille explains.

RM60-01 Voiles de Saint Barth breaths competitive sailing, as it features UTC functions and a countdown timer as well as a patented locking crown and pushers. Only 50 timepieces will be available exclusively in North and South America and in case you haven’t already realized at what type of product we’re looking, wait to hear the price.

According to Luxatic, the exclusive watch also comes with a white rubber strap covered in a titanium deployant, and it’s priced at exactly $160,000 (EUR 148,000).
