Top Gear presenter Richard Hammond managed to edge out Formula one drivers Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton in a recent poll, as he was named Liverpool’s favorite celebrity driver.
His new title of “Star in a Car” was won with a score of 30 percent of votes, which won him a comfortable victory over Formula One star Jenson Button in second place with 26 percent. Hamilton came a close third with a score of 18 percent of Liverpool’s vote. The poll, which was commissioned by netcars.com, saw Jeremy Clarkson only scoring 9 percent. Maybe Jezza needs to take lessons from Hamster in dealing with the media.
“I am sure the results of our survey will lead to lots more banter between Hammond and Clarkson, as one is a clear favourite with drivers in Liverpool. I am sure Hammond will take great pride in getting one over on Clarkson and May.But all joking aside our results demonstrate extremely well just how popular these guys are and how Top Gear and motoring shows can be enjoyed by everybody,” said Managing director of Netcars.com, Reg Rix.
