Revised Mazda Premacy Now on Sale

Japanese manufacturer Mazda announced it has released for sale in Japan the revised version of the Premacy, known elsewhere as the Mazda5. Mazda will charge in between 1,820,000 and 2,195,000 yen ($18,937 and $22,840) for the front-wheel drive Premacy and it qualifies for 50 percent reductions on both the automobile acquisition tax and the automobile weight tax. The car can be purchased at all Mazda, Mazda Anfini and Mazda Autozam dealerships.

The enhancements brought to the Premacy start with the exterior, which now comes in eight body colors, including Aluminum Metallic and Radiant Ebony Mica. For the 20Z version, a special color, Dark Plum Mica, is also available. On the inside, newly designed fabric seat and door trim are available for the 20Z.

Technical tweaks are not as numerous, as they include only the addition of the a trip computer that includes a fuel economy gauge as standard and side and rear view cameras for the 20CS, 20S and 20Z models.

"Since its debut in 1999, the Mazda Premacy compact minivan has earned plaudits for its efficient seven-seat packaging, outstanding driving performance and sporty styling. Ten years later, the Premacy is currently sold in over 60 countries and has become Mazda’s best-selling minivan, with total global sales surpassing 710,000 units," Mazda said in a release.

In late May, Mazda also delivered a special version of the Premacy, namely the Hydrogen RE Hybrid. The Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid can run on both hydrogen and gasoline thanks to a dual-fuel system that was developed for the current RX-8 Hydrogen RE.
