It's not the first time you read the name Revelo here, and it looks like things are only getting better for the Canadian startup. Toronto-based Revelo Electric are finally being able to manufacture their latest concept named FLEX, an electric bike that takes functionality and practicality to the next level.
And because such an endeavor is largely based on public support, Revelo is offering the FLEX at a discounted price via a Kickstarter campaign that starts today. If a fun, convenient, affordable pedelec is on your shopping or even Christmas list, this is the best time to make a smart move.

Revelo FLEX was designed in Canada with total mobility in mind, and it’s one of the best "last mile" solutions. That is, a personal transport solution that people can carry in their trunk or on the train, metro or bus and that gets them as close as possible to their urban workplaces.

As its name already says, FLEX has a folding architecture which turns a small bicycle into a compact mass that only occupies a 1 x 2 x2.5 ft (30 x 60 x 80 cm) volume. With a weight of only 33 lbs (15 kg), the Revelo FLEX is easy to carry up or down a flight of stairs, in elevators, and it can rest in a corner of your office while you recharge it.

Dual Mode Crank and a 20-mile range

The FLEX is built from tough aluminium, but retains a low weight and a low center of gravity, making steering feel confident and easy. Two pedals are affixed to the front axle, and they can be set for electric-only cruising, or used to power the bike, just like a child's trike. However, riders have to pedal to assist the motor, as the Revelo FLEX is not intended to be used as a traditional bicycle.

When folded, the Revelo FLEX' handlebars also turn so that the entire package retains the modest profile, and they can be used for pushing or towing the bike around.

The 10Ah 36V battery can be recharged in 3-5 hours, and the 250W rear hub motor can provide a top speed of 25 km/h (15.5 mph). The top range is 20 miles (32 km).

Revelo FLEX can be pre-ordered as of today in white, black, red, or green, Revelo’s CEO Henry Chong kindly informed us. The limited time offer will bring a Revelo FLEX in your life for only $998 (€872). The MSRP is $1898 (€1,660), and this is sort of double the money, making being an early bird customer well worth the effort.

We'll update the news with the Kickstarter link as the sales start.
