Twelve years ago, when Lincoln was in a bigger pinch than it was nowadays in terms of styling language and sales volume, Ford's luxury brand produced a concept car that didn't make it into production. Even though it's not road-legal, now's your chance to buy the 2002 Lincoln Continental concept for pennies.
Back in 2010, RM Auctions sold the outlandish car for just $56,100, which is about 6 grand less than a base 2015 Lincoln Navigator. Because there's not a big market for Lincoln concepts out there, we don't expect the Continental to sell for much more than that this time around in Dallas on November 14th.

So what's so special about this car besides the trick and outlandish styling cues? Well, how about the electrically operated trunk boasting with no less than three storage drawers and a pristine condition Zero Halliburton set of luggage? If that doesn't really float your boat, then you might be interested in the 6-liter V12 engine under the hood, rated at 414 ponies and a hefty 412 pound-feet (558 Nm) of torque, big numbers for that respective automotive era.

Drive is sent to the rear axle thanks to a six-speed automatic transmission. The chassis uses multi-link suspension at the front and an independent setup at the rear. Moreover, there's speed-sensitive rally-inspired four-wheel steering and Rolls-Royce-like suicide doors on the menu as well.

This is the 2002 Lincoln Continental concept in a nutshell, but a word of warning before you decide if it's worth bidding for the thing: glitchy electronics and a powertrain that doesn't run might put you off.
