Got an empty space in your car collection and don’t know what to put in it? How about this first generation Toyota Crown that has been completely restored and looks like it just rolled out of the assembly line back in the 60’s?
Actually it’s the facelifted first generation Crown, with the bigger engine, having a 1.9-liter four-cylinder unit sending the power to the rear wheels. Built using the classic body-on-frame construction, the sedan uses a double wishbone suspension at the front and a leaf one in the back.
Despite being a well-built, comfortably and kind of luxurious sedan for the time, the car never had success on the US market, not being able to keep up with its American rivals. There were only 287 imported Crowns in the US, of which only five are known to have survived.
Basically, it’s a rare Toyota to have, and you can see the official ad here for more information.
