‘Tis the season to be jolly – and generous. The staff and bosses of a restaurant in Lafayette, Louisiana, got together and raised enough money to buy a coworker a new car, after his old one was stolen from the parking lot.
It’s good to know you have friends you can rely on, and Kea certainly has those. Staff at the Ruffino’s on the River restaurant came together to help Kea when he was feeling down, after his old car was stolen from the restaurant parking lot, when he was at work.
Video of the touching moment was posted to Facebook and has gone viral. You can also check it out at the bottom of the page.
General manager Chris Muffoletto posted the video in which Kea takes ownership of his new silver Chrevrolet sedan, calling it “the most touching thing I've experienced in my 30 years in the business.” Kea clearly has no idea what’s in store for him, especially since he’s told the staff has a “little” surprise for him because he’s been having a rough time.
Muffoletto admits that this amazing gesture wouldn’t have been possible without help from a local car dealership, which matched the money they raised at the restaurant and made the purchase possible.
“Last week, our long-time employee had his car stolen from the parking lot at Ruffino’s on the River. The staff decided that we had to do something, so we all pitched in and surprised Kea with a replacement,” Muffoletto says.
“A HUGE shout out to Don’s Wholesale Automotive. They heard what we were trying to do and matched the donations of our staff to put Kea and his young family in a reliable, beautiful car,” he adds. “Big thanks to Mr. Don and Dylan for your generosity and spirit of giving. You have customers for life!!! I can’t tell you how proud I am of our staff, their big hearts, and our family environment.”
Sure, this is also a golden opportunity for self-promotion, but let's focus on the positive. A man who needed a new car got one, and just in time for the holidays.
