Rent Roman Abramovich's Eclipse Superyacht for $2M a Week

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich took delivery of the world’s largest private yacht, the Eclipse, about a half an year ago. The yacht, with a value estimated at $350 million, was designed by Hermidas Atabeyki, while the interior represents the work of the well-known designer, Terrence Disdale.

Now, the Eclipse is being offered up for hire at a rate of $2 million per week, JamesList revealed. The 538-ft. superyacht is available via ultra-exclusive brokerage SuperYachtsMonaco.

The giant watercraft, which has space for 30 guests and 75 crew, reportedly features a military-grade missile defense system, armor plating, bulletproof windows, three helipads, two swimming pools and a wellness center.

Other highlights include a private yellow submarine, which can dive to 160ft below the water to escape in the event of an attack, a swimming pool with large Havana bars surrounding it, a cinema, library, restaurant, private garden and a 5,000 square feet master suite, to name but a few.

All these should make the billionaire owner of the Chelsea Football Club feel like home and protected when on the yacht.

According to the aforementioned source, Abramovich negotiated to pay about $485 million for the yacht even though it cost close to $800 million to build. The Eclipse’s maintenance has been estimated at $50 million a year, with each fuel fill-up taking some $650,000 from the Russian’s bank accounts. Billionaire or not, these costs are a bit high, so there’s no wonder Abramovich decided to put it up for rent.

Abramovich's private fleet consists of four motor yachts: Eclipse, Sussurro, and Luna, which is offered for charter through SYM as well.
