Renntech Tweaks the Mercedes SLS AMG

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is a supercar that manages to impress in many ways. One of the areas that really caught our... ear is the vehicles’ soundtrack, with the 6.2 liter engine really sounding like a caged beast fighting to escape.

However, in the automotive world, there’s always room for more, especially if we are talking about aftermarket developers. The American tuner Renntech has decided to play with the SLS AMG.

The supercar has received and ECU remap, as well as a new exhaust that includes a secondary catalytic bypass and a custom x-pipe. In addition to that, the vehicle was fitted with a carbon fiber front lip.

Here’s how the tuner describes its creation: “RENNtech performance exhaust featuring secondary catalytic bypass and x-pipe for the new Mercedes SLS AMG. Our exhaust produces an intoxicating growl and in conjunction with our proprietary ECU tuning software, unleashes the beast hiding underneath the refined exterior.”

The V8 powerplant is now more willing to push the world backwards and is an auditive menace. The tuner hasn’t released the new power and torque figures, but we can expect an output that makes a decent difference.

We’d like to remind you that the vehicle’s standard naturally aspirated 6.2 liter V8 powerplant delivers 571 hp at 6,800 rpm and a peak torque of 651 Nm (480 lb-ft) at 4,750 rpm.

The company has also released a video that shows what its latest creation can do, As you can imagine, the best part is the soundtrack, which takes you into another world. We hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we did.
