Renntech Plays with the Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet

Renntech is an American aftermarket developer that has turned Mercedes-Benz tuning into a perversion. The company likes to go to bed with most vehicles coming from the German automotive producer. Anything goes for the aftermarket developer, with the smart or the Sprinter van also being included. And the company really means business, with its AMG models-destined modification packages being the perfect example for this.

However, this doesn’t mean that the tuner doesn’t like to play with four-wheeled babes that come from other carmakers. The company has also been seen playing dangerous games with vehicles wearing badges like Porsche, Bentley, Ferrari and VW/Audi.

Today, we are here to see what the tuner has done to a Porsche 911 Turbo Cabrio. Before we start, we should warm extreme trill seekers that this is not one of those wild projects, as this is not what the owner was looking for.

During Renntech and the 911’s first night together, the tuner found out that the car had already been played with by another aftermarket developer, as it was using a modified exhaust and a remapped ECU.

This was no problem for Renntech, who decided to pretend that there was no elephant in the room. The tuner plugged its connector into the vehicle’s OBD socket and started playing. The first step was to install a custom exhaust that was delivered by Akrapovic, with the move being followed by the introduction of a Renntech proprietary ECU software.

When reaching the climax, the vehicle’s twin-turbo 3.8 liter Boxer engine now delivers 500 hp (we are talking wheel hp here) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of torque.
