Renault Wind UK Pricing Announced

Now that Spring is here, it is definitely time for the rain to start... the open top vehicle rain that is. One of the convertible clouds comes from Renault UK, who has just announced the pricing for the upcoming Twingo-based open-top Wind model.

The Wind range will be available in three versions: Dynamique, Dynamique S and Collection limited edition, all of which can be ordered with one of the two petrol engines available. These are the economic 1.2 liter unit that develops 100 hp & emits 145 grams of CO2/km and the sporty 1.6 liter 16V powerplant that offers 133 hp & emits 165 grams of CO2/km (this is borrowed form the Twingo RenaultSport).

The Wind can be yours for a price starting from 15,500 pounds, if you opt for for the Dynamique version equipped with the 1.2 liter unit. However the line-up’s pricing goes up to 18,200 pounds, for the Collection limited edition model, powered by the 1.6 liter engine.

British Renault dealers will start taking pre-orders for the two-seater later this month, but only for the Collection limited edition (just 200 will make their way to the UK). The Dynamique and the Dynamique S models can be ordered starting from May, with deliveries scheduled for July.

The entry level version Wind comes in standard with ABS & EBD (electronic brake force distribution), front and lateral driver and passenger airbags, brake assist and ESC (electronic stability control).

With its quick-folding roof, the new Wind Coupe-Roadster is capable of taking the indifferent British climate in its stride all-year round. In just 12 seconds, the single-piece roof can be rotated through 180 degrees to let in the sun’s rays, or more likely, to protect against more frequent downpours,” stated the press release, in an effort to convince buyers that the car is suitable for the climate in the UK.
