Renault Twizy Available from Under GBP7,000

Finally, the smallest Z.E. at Renault is reaching the UK, as the automaker announced that customers are able to make online reservations for the Twizy range starting from today. This can be done at the following link, with a GBP20 deposit required via a secure online payment module.

UK pricing for the Twizy start at GBP6,690 on-the-road for the Urban version, while in higher specification Technic trim it will cost GBP7,400. The monthly battery lease cost for both versions (each powered by a 17 hp motor) will be GBP40 including VAT for a 36 month/4,800 miles per year agreement.

The vehicle offers seating for two, sitting in tandem, one behind the other, with the wraparound bodywork and side deflectors ensuring enjoyable yet protected open-air motoring. Accessories include an all-purpose bag with a capacity of 50 liters, additional protection against the weather, a Parrot audio kit including Bluetooth connectivity, plus a USB connector, a jack socket and an Apple connector, rear parking sensors, and various customization options.

Twizy’s battery fully charges in just three and a half hours using a domestic electrical supply via a spiral cable stored behind a flap at the front. Twizy’s low weight (450kg, including the 100kg battery) directly helps its operational range of 62 miles (NEDC standard cycle).

Customers settling for the Urban version will get their Twizy with either red or grey paintwork, but black or white metallic are also available as an option.

Standard features on the Urban include TEP water resistant upholstery, driver’s airbag, 4-point front seat-belt,3-point rear seat-belt, anti-submarining front seat , child seat compatible rear seat (under 15kg), regenerative braking system with 4 disc brakes, econometer, range and ‘Eco driving’ gauge, two gloveboxes (one lockable), 31-litre lockable storage under rear seat, and 55-litre lockable rear storage achieved by turning rear seat over.

On the other hand, The Twizy Technic adds ‘carbon fibre’ graphics, ‘diamond black’ alloy wheels, metallic paint - black or white, and TEP water resistant upholstery with driver’s seat in white. Options include scissors doors with translucent lower half and transparent roof.
