Renault Trucks UK Appoints New Managing Director

The British division of Renault Trucks announced yesterday it has appointed Marc Martinez as its new Managing Director, effective July 1, 2010. Martinez will take over responsibilities from Laurent Farman, who will become Managing Director at Renault Trucks Spain. Martinez, 46, has been with Renault Trucks for 22 years, first joining the company as a salesman.

He then moved to sales, key account management and director roles. In 2005 he was appointed as Managing Director of Renault Trucks France.

“I think that the UK is a huge opportunity for me that will add a whole new, more international, dimension to my career.  I’m looking forward to meeting new customers and to experience a new culture and a new way of doing business that I am sure will challenge me both personally and professionally,”
Martinez says.

“Most importantly, I will be focusing on some key priorities for Renault Trucks in the UK.  To develop the profitability of the company in a tough economic climate and to consolidate the Renault Trucks brand in the UK truck market.  With the latter, our dealer network will be a key factor in our success, so I am looking forward to working very closely with them and developing the quality of our product and service offers.”

Laurent Farman will start his new role as Managing Director of Renault Trucks Spain on September 1, 2010.  He will remain in the UK throughout July to ensure a full handover to Marc Martinez.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the 4 years I have spent in the UK and am sorry to leave, but am also excited by the challenges of my new position,”
stated Laurent. ”I wish him [Marc] every success, in what I know he will find to be a challenging but hugely enjoyable experience!”
