Renault Talisman Rendered in RenaultSport Outfit, Looks Meh to Us

Truth be told, performance sedans have an appeal of their own but for some reasons, not all manage to live up to this charming attitude.

Sure, there's the BMW M3 or its Mercedes-AMG C63 rival from Stuttgart, two extremely desirable kickass models, but we're not talking premium saloons here.

In fact, the new Renault Talisman is brought to our attention in R.S. overalls, courtesy of X-Tomi Design. French car lovers might enjoy it, since, in theory, a potential Talisman R.S. would be able to keep up with the German Insignia OPC or the long-gone Japanese Mazdaspeed6 (Mazda6 MPS in Europe).

So, what would a Talisman R.S. look like if Renault decided to build one? First of all, you would know you're dealing with a RenaultSport-bred car by its exterior look. Sporty bumpers, the R.S. badge under the Renault logo and a few black accents here and there plus a lower stance, taking the sedan's belly closer to the asphalt.

To be honest, we think the R.S. treatment suits the Talisman better than its stock appearance, but then again, that's just one subjective opinion.

In any case, there's a very slim chance of Renault considering an R.S. variant for the Talisman. That means those looking to buy Laguna's replacement will have to settle for a 1.6-liter TCe turbocharged petrol with 200 horsepower at best. If it's diesel you're keen on, there's the option of placing a 1.5-liter dCi turbodiesel mill under the hood (110 HP) or a 1.6-liter diesel plant (with either 130 or 160 horsepower).
