The general public isn’t convinced that electric vehicles are the way of the future and fossil fuels will go the way of the dinosaurs (from which they came), but much like states were faster to adopt electricity as a source of lighting, the French authorities are backing Renault’s Z.E. line with huge orders once again.
According to an official statement from the carmaker made last week, a total 15,637 Kangoo Van Z.E. are to be ordered by the 19 companies taking part in the call for bids, including 10,000 for La Poste, 1,500 for ERDF, 1,200 for UGAP, 510 for Veolia Environnement, 450 for GDF-Suez and 330 for Spie.
“This success by Renault confirms the relevance of our electric vehicle offering – products and services alike – with business customers. The 19 large companies acquiring Kangoo Van Z.E. were attracted to its intrinsic qualities and by our original business model, based in particular on battery rental.
