Since the launch of the model, Dacia fans have been begging Renault to make a hot version of the Sandero hatchback. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen with a brand for penny-pinchers, but at least they finally gave us a version that looks fast.
Called the Renault Sandero GT Line, this funky car comes not from Eastern Europe, but from Brazil, where the Sandero looks quite a bit different.
The changes at the front incorporate black headlight surrounds, a big lower grille and large headlight surrounds. Round the back, there’s a trunk spoiler an integrated (fake) diffuser and blacked out taillights.
Inside, the GT Line gets red seatbelts, red stitching for the steering wheel, plus seats upholstered in black and red.
If you were hoping the GT Line is powered by the same engine as the Clio GT, the 133 hp 1.6, you’re in for a nasty shock - it’s a eight-valve 1.6 with only 106 horsepower. What’s more, you have to pay a slightly unreasonable $19,100 in Brazil (€15.200).
