While most automakers around the world struggle to reduce costs and slash workforce at most production facilities, Slovenian car manufacturer Revoz today confirmed that it plans to hire about 150 new employees and to increase production in the next months, citing the continuously growing demand as the reason. Revoz, a subsidiary of French manufacturer Renault, will increase production to about 880 vehicles per day, Autonews wrote today, as the new car demand rise in several foreign markets.
Germany is one of the largest export markets for Revoz these days, as the German government is now offering cash incentives to people buying a new car. However, Revoz reduced production in November and slashed working hours following decreasing demand, similar to other automakers who felt the economic recession threat. However, the company is now back in business and, according to some officials, better sales are also forecasted for the next months.
"From the start of April on, we will increase production from 750 vehicles per day to about 880 vehicles, for which we will employ around 150 additional staff," Revoz said in a statement according to Autonews.
Revoz currently has more than 2,930 employees and manufactures several Renault models, including the new Twingo and Clio II. The only manufacturer in Slovenia, Revoz is 100 percent owned by Group Renault since 2003. The French automaker first bought a stake of 54 percent in Revoz in 1991, with the share increased to 66.68 percent in 2001.
"The Revoz plant is entirely incorporated into the system of the Renault Production Department which links all its European plants manufacturing passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. All projects introduced at the Production Department level are introduced at the Revoz plant as well," the official website of the company reads.
