Renault Megane RS Teased Ahead of Geneva

Renault is willing to continue the RS tradition with a brand new model, this time the last-generation Megane which will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The French manufacturer recently published a separate website for the new RS, counting the remaining days, hours, minutes and seconds until the company will debut the high-performance Megane.

Unfortunately, only a little is known at this point but, from the things we can see in the teaser, the car looks incredibly appealing. The large front grille and what seems to be dual-xenon headlights provide a fairly aggressive look which is one of the main features offered by models included in the RS series. Even though it's pretty unclear, it may seem like the Megane RS incorporates daytime running lights which means Renault may rush to bring the model in mass-production.

There's no technical details for the time being but, according to a report issued by Autoblog, the Megane RS may initially be released in a three-door flavor, while the five-door variant is expected anytime in the next few months. Speaking of engines, this model may be powered by the same R.26 2.0-liter powerplant that produces a maximum power of 250 hp, with 0 to 100 km/h acceleration reached in approximately 6 seconds (obviously depending on the overall weight of the car).

Since it's a high-performance vehicle, Renault will likely install an advanced braking system (Brembo is one of the names rumored to be included), advanced tires and several other upgraded parts.

As mentioned, details are quite limited at this point, so we're still waiting for some official specs issued by Renault.
