The French manufacturer is on a bit of a roll nowadays. After presenting the 2015 Renault Espace V, the brand continues its refreshening streak with the Kadjar, the C-segment crossover SUV brother of the 2016 Renault Megane. Price-wise, the Kadjar starts at €22,190 in France for the Life TCe 130.
Due to differences in taxes, VAT, and other matters, the same entry-level model costs €19,990 in Germany. The cheapest you can have the 1.2 TCe Life 4x2 with the 6-speed manual is in Romania, where the base Kadjar is €18,200. The new crossover from Renault gets a plethora of standard features even in Life guise.
LED daytime running lights and taillights, 16-inch steel wheels, manual air conditioning, a base audio system with AM/FM radio, USB and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as fog lights, heated mirrors, cruise control and a speed limiter feature. By contrast, the top-of-the-range Intens trim level makes do with full-LED lights, R-Link touchscreen infotainment, power folding mirrors, rear parking camera, 19-inch wheels, active safety features and textile-and-leather seat upholstery.
Other than the TCe 130 gasoline-fed engine, the 2015 Renault Kadjar can be had with a choice of turbo diesel engines that ranges from the dCi 110 to the dCi 130. If needed, Renault can provide Kadjar owners with an all-wheel drive system as long as it’s paired to the dCi 160 turbo diesel engine. At the present moment, the EDC dual-clutch automatic transmission is available only on the dCi 110 and dCi 130 lumps.
In the United Kingdom, the all-new Kadjar commands a £17,995 sticker while the most expensive model can be bought for £26,295. The 4.45-meter long Renault Kadjar is underpinned by the Renault-Nissan CMF-CD platform, which will be employed by the upcoming 2016 Renault Megane and 2016 Renault Laguna.
European and UK deliveries are slated to start late summer-early September.
