Renault Introduces "Extra" Van Special Editions

The United Kingdom seems to be Renault's favorite market when it comes to special edition models as the French manufacturer recently debuted several limited series in the country. Recently, Renault announced that it will refresh its UK van range with some "Extra" special editions that will add around 1,000 pound equipment over the standard trim level but without increasing the price.

The "Extra" version will be available for Kangoo Van, Traffic and Master.

Feature highlights include air conditioning, electric windows and electrically operated and heated door mirrors. Additionally, Kangoo Van Extra comprises a tubular steel bulkhead as standard, while Trafic gains an air conditioned glovebox, and Master benefits from Bluetooth, black trim and rear parking sensors.

Pricing for the Extra range starts at £11,090 for Kangoo Van, £16,260 for Trafic and £21,340 for Master.

In separate news, Renault is still working on its zero-emission plan that will support the introduction of electric cars in 2011. Recently, the Renault-Nissan Alliance joined forces the City of Kita-Kyushu in Japan and with the State Government of New South Wales in Australia.

"Today, Nissan is proud to partner with the New South Wales government through the signing of this MOU," Dan Thompson, Nissan Australia CEO said in a release. "Technology for zero emissions mobility is a reality and we are prepared to proactively explore ways to bringing this technology to the market with collaboration from the government."

"Our company is leading the world in the design and production of a battery-powered family-sized car and we aim to have this vehicle on sale in Australia by 2012. The announcement of the signing of a strategic MoU with the Government of New South Wales brings that reality closer," Thompson continued.
