Renault Denies Kubica's Condition Getting Worse

Renault has dismissed allegations that Robert Kubica's medical condition has worsened in the past couple of days, confirming that the Polish driver has returned to intensive care and that he will stay there until he'll undergo his third and final surgery at the Santa Corona hospital.

According to an earlier report coming from Poland, courtesy of news channel TVN 24, Kubica's girlfriend Edyta Witas had suggested that the 26-year old's medical condition has gone down in regards to both his “physical and psychological state” following his last operation on Friday.

The medical staff at the aforementioned facility have proceeded to the second operation in order to stabilize his right humerus and leg on Friday morning, an intervention that took around 4 hours.

According to Renault's latest update however, Kubica's condition continues to show positive signs, and the fact that he moved back into intensive care – after having been moved to normal ward hours before the operation – is only a precautionary and normal measure taken by the doctors prior to the third and last surgery he'll sustain, on his right elbow.

He will stay in intensive care for the next couple of days to allow a complete check-up and to avoid another change of department before his final operation,” said Renault, referring to Kubica's scheduled operation on Wednesday.

Renault did not mention anything about the possibility of Kubica moving out of the ICU sometime this week, nor did it bring any info on the Polish driver's potential release date. Reports last week suggested that if everything goes well by his third operation, Kubica might be released from hospital and into a private facility by the end of this week.
