Renault Clio RS: FWD Cars Can Drift!

We have a soft spot for the Clio RS, as it’s nothing more than a dressed up version of a car from an era when the Civic Type R was cool. The facelifted Mk III looks really sporty and just about the only thing that lets it down is that bland interior that, save for some red stitching on the steering wheel, looks like a regular old shopping trolly.
Another thing we like about the facelift is that the RS is about as hardcore in suspension damping as a properly quick hatch for the track should be. JustinsSupercars recorded a pair of competition examples with scoops and roll cages doing some controlled slides on an indoor circuit at the Essen Motor Show 2011.

No, a front-wheel drive car can’t really drift in the most pure of sense, but this bit of controlled hooning proves the French at RenaultSport have mastered the fast shopping trolly that can swing its tail out.
