Renault used an annual shareholders’ meeting that was held last week to reveale a teaser image for the upcoming fourth-generation Clio, with the photo showing us the rear quarter of the car.
Judging by what we can see in the image, we are dealing with a revolutionary design style (for the Clio), as the handle of the rear door is hidden in the rear pillar and the headlights come with a bold design, albeit reminding us of those of the current SEAT Ibiza. Renault is trying to use the aforementioned styling trick to compensate for the fact that it will only offer the Clio as a five-door model.

In fact, Renault previously said that it will use an emotional design for the fourth-generation Clio, offering the DeZir Concept, which debuted at the Paris Motor Show back in 2010, as a source of inspiration.

In addition to that, the vehicle will have an interior design that will be focused on the driver, while under the hood we’ll find downsized three- and four-cylinder engines. While a Renaultsport version is already being developed, Renault won’t also offer an electric one, due to the fact that this would cannibalize the carmaker’s Zoe model.

The fourth generation of the Renault Clio is scheduled to make its debut this fall, at the Paris Motor Show, but we’ll get to find out a lot more about the car until then.
