Renault Clio Hatchback and Estate Ready for Launch

French manufacturer Renault today announced that it prepares to launch the latest-generation Hatchback and Estate version of the new Clio, with both versions to be manufactured in Flins (France), Valladolid (Spain) and Bursa (Turkey). The GT version will be exclusively produced by the Flins factory while the Estate will be manufactured by the Bursa plant. Clio Renault Sport will be made by Dieppe (France).

In terms of engine configurations, the Clio lineup will incorporate five petrol powerplants (obviously depending on the market), the 1.2 16V 75hp (55kW), the TCe 100 (74kW), the 1.6 16V 110hp (82kW), the 1.6 16V 128hp (94kW), and the 2.0 16V 140hp (102kW), as we well as three diesel options dCi 70 (50kW), the dCi 85 (63kW) and the dCi 105 (78kW).

There are multiple transmission types available: a five- and a six-speed manual gearbox, a Quickshift 5 transmission available for the 1.2 16v 75hp (depending on market) and dCi 85 engines plus a four-speed automatic transmission for the 1.6 16V 110 engine.

Beside these engines, the French manufacturer will also offer two options capable of running on alternative fuels, as it follows: an E85 bioethanol-compatible version of the 1.2 16V 75 hp unit plus an LPG version of the same engine.

There are numerous safety features, including ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, emergency brake assist, ESC, traction control, ventilated front discs. Other feature highlights include cruise control, cornering lights, rear parking proximity sensor, rain and light sensor, foldaway ignition key, Bluetooth support plus Carminat TomTom, an integrated navigation system which provides data related to speed restrictions, vehicle status, and traffic information.

Moreover, the system provides a large multimedia display giving access to the main features of the car, including radio information, phone lists, MP3 playlists and navigation data.
