For true Renault fans, this title is probably very strange. That's because the Clio GT used to have a 1.6-liter with 133 hp, just like the Twingo RS. Oddly, its replacement that came out in 2013 has less power: 120 PS from a 1.2-liter TCe turbo. It's the same unit offered in the Captur crossover or the Dacia Duster and it's not exactly gutsy.
But, with a little bit of chip tuning magic, a French company called Digiservices has rectified the problem. The ECU remap for the car gets you 130 PS and crucially more torque as well. 233 Nm is available from relatively low revs, 46 more than the standard engine and 78 Nm more than the old model.
The Clio GT offers a good balance between sportiness and comfort. The version boasts exclusive exterior accessories that make the car appear more sporty and aggressive. The suspension was stiffened while the exclusive GT seats received improved lateral support. It's a decent warm hatch, a rival for the Suzuki Swift Sport.
