The Renault Captur was already one of the most colorful crossovers you can buy for the money, but now it's even more special. Following a collaboration with apparel makers Helly Hansen, the car is now available in a fantastic shade of flame red. This limited edition is supposed to bring out your adventurous side, but really, it starts and stops with the updated color pallet.
You can order the new red paint with either a black or an ivory roof for contrast. Besides this color, the Captur Helly Hansen is also available in Etoile Black with an ivory roof, Cassiopee Grey with black roof and Ivory body with black roof. You can check all of them out in the photo gallery below, but frankly, we'd stick to the distinctive new red.
Partial leather seats are standard on the special edition, as are 17-inch diamond-effect black alloys and skid plates for the sills. Renault also throws in automatic climate control, electric folding mirrors and R-Link.
There is, however, a mechanical side to this story. For the first time since its launch, the Captur is available with Extended Grip, a system designed to increase traction on front-wheel drive cars. First introduced on the Scenic XMOD, it works by using the brakes to distribute lost power from the wheel that's slipping to the one that has more grip.
Orders for the Captur Helley Hansen in Europe will start this June, with deliveries starting in September. Interested buyers should know that you can have any of the engines, including the 0.9-liter turbo with 90 hp, the 1.5-liter diesel and even the 1.2-liter range topping turbo with 120 hp and a twin-clutch EDC gearbox.
