French carmaker Renault officially revealed today that its all-new and highly anticipated Espace model will make its global debut at next month's Paris Motor Show.
For now, no details have been made official, but we're certain the Espace will share its design with the Initiale Paris Concept from last year. Another important change is that a twin-turbo 1.6-liter diesel engine will be installed under the bonnet of this new people-mover.

The new Espace will be based on Renault-Nissan alliance’s new CFM1 modular architecture, the same one used by the Qashqai, Rogue and X-Trail. Next-gen downsized petrol engines are also expected to make their debut, together with an all-new way of designing and engineering large people carriers.

Renault desperately needs an automatic braking system in order to gain 5-star safety ratings from Euro NCAP. Considering this is their flagship model, it's reasonable to expect that to make its debut in Paris, along with autonomous parking and lane-watching sensors.

Our spy photos of the Espace have lead us to believe that it could be offered with four-wheel steering, a feature borrowed from the Laguna GT models, as well as all-LED headlights.

Those seeking more down-to-earth French technology need only turn their attention to the Dacia stand, which will witness the expansion of the Stepway model range. This crossover treatment that first started with the Sandero will be applied to the Lodgy and Dokker models, the workhorses of the line-up.
