Renault has come to the Goodwood Festival of Speed with all the toys it had at its disposal, most coming from the RenaultSport division. There are also some amazing blasts from the past presents, like the legendary Type K which made the trip form Paris to Vienna in 1902.
But you know us, we’re thoroughly modern folks here at autoevolution, so let’s just take a look at the all-new track tools they bought along.
Making its debut up the Goodwood hill was the new Clio GT. This warm hatch fills the gap below the Clio RS, also present at Goodwood. It’s powered by a new 1.2-liter turbo engine that makes 120 PS and is only available with a double-clutch gearbox. The idea is to have better performance and economy than the old Clio Gt, which had the 133 PS 1.6-liter.
But perhaps even more impressive was the presence of the Twin’Run concept, a small mid-engined car with a powerful V6 engine. We believe this previews the revival of the Renault 5 name, so we relish the chance to watch it in action. The Twizy F1, which has a powerful KERS system, also went up the hill this week.
