Reggie Jackson’s Ferrari Daytona Spyder On Offer in Arizona

If you were looking for a 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona Spyder, we might know where you can find one. The particular car we have in mind belongs to baseball legend Reggie Jackson and is probably the most important of all cars on offer at the annual RM Auctions Arizona sale in Phoenix. Joining the Daytona will be other Ferrari greats, as well as other classic cars from that period.

The former Hall of Fame baseballer is not the only owner of the car that bears the chassis number 16835. It also belonged to the motorcycle daredevil Evil Knievel. With such famous owners it does not surprise us that the car has an estimated value of between $900,000 and $1 million (EUR635,000 and EUR705,000). If you ask us, we think this is quite affordable for a rare Ferrari that has sat in the garage of two such famous people.

If you happen to have that king of cash lying around and want this must-have, you can have a go at bidding for it, as the auction taking place in Phoenix, Arizona, between January 20-21. Also present at the auction will be a fully-restored 1950 Ferrari 166 Inter Berlinetta bearing a $400,000 (EUR 285,000) price tag.

Another very special Ferrari will be the very last one with a five-digit chassis number (s/n 99999). Two Rolls-Royces will also be on sale: a 40/50HP Silver Ghost Phaeton estimated at $350,000 (EUR250,000) and a 1932 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Newmarket Sport Phaeton worth $300,000 (EUR210,00).

The total number of Daytonas ever made by Ferrari is 1,406, through the production cycle of the model. This figure only includes 122 factory-made Spiders... a rare gem indeed.
