American buyers of the Ford Fiesta will now be able to order their cars with the Blue Oval’s excellent three-pot 1.0-liter EcoBoost powerplant (which traveled to LA in a suitcase), which, until now, had been reserved strictly for their European buyers. However, with fuel prices and eco-awareness on the rise in the States, buyers are migrating towards smaller and more efficient cars, and with very competent cars, such as the Fiesta, they get a lot for their money.
The 2014 model-year is important for the Fiesta, as its 1.0-liter engine is a real technological gem, pumping out 125 hp, from its very small displacement, which is more per liter than many supercars. Furthermore, with fuel savings of 20% and a 15% reduction in emissions, compared to similarly-powered larger engines, the Fiesta, fitted with the aforementioned engine really makes a strong case for itself - it can do up to 40 mpg, if driven carefully.

Aside from the new grille and minor cosmetic changes, Ford has also updated the Fiesta’s interior, upping the quality and bestowing it with several new options. It is now available with MyFord Touch infotainment system, which features a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, as well as voice recognition.

John Schneider, Chief Engineer at Ford stated: “This car was built for the digital generation [. . .] With Bluetooth connectivity and MP3 capabilities, tech-savvy people who use social media to be constantly connected with the world around them won’t be slowed down when they get in this car.
