Red Bull Would Handle Hamilton - Manager

Lewis Hamilton might not benefit from the best car in the pack this season, at least if we are to trust the latest feedback from the teams during the Barcelona group test – but the 2008 Formula 1 champion is regarded as one of the main threats for the world title by the Red Bull organization.

Lewis is a great driver,” said Red Bull's team principal Christian Horner in a recent interview with the Telegraph. “You would think he's not going to be happy having another barren year.

After his title-winning campaign in 2008, Hamilton experienced a troublesome year in 2009, while also failing in his bid for a second world title in 2010. What that means is that he is hungry for victories, and McLaren would better deliver him a winning car if they want to make their driver happy.

Despite his troubled last couple of seasons with the Woking based organization, Horner believes Hamilton knocking on Red Bull's door in the neat future is not a possibility. While avoiding to deny such a prospect sometime in the future, the Englishman insisted his team is currently happy with its lineup for 2011.

That is not to say we are looking for him to come to our team. We are very happy with the two drivers we have. That is more of a question you would need to put to Lewis,” he said, adding that: “You would certainly envisage it being quite a busy partnership, but you can never rule it out. From my perspective you always want to have the best two drivers.”

Sebastian Vettel recently signed a new deal with Red Bull binding him to the Austrian squad until the 2014 season, while Mark Webber's contract with the team expires at the end of this season. In case the Australian keeps himself in title contention until the late stages of the campaign, the team officials have hinted he may be offered another one-year extension for 2012.
