Red Bull Trust Vettel to Make Them Legendary

Red Bull Racing are currently being viewed as Formula 1's “new kids on the block”, having entered the series just a while back and reaching stardom in less than 6 years. However, just winning a Formula 1 championship hardly qualifies a team for the “legendary” status within the Great Circus, something that the Austrian squad is apparently targeting for the future.

Dietrich Mateschitz' team is in F1 for the long run and the recent comments made by team manager Christian Horner reveal the team's high ambitions for the future.

Fearing that Vettel might leave the Milton Keynes based organization in order to fulfill his dream of one day driving for Ferrari, Horner insisted that as long as Red Bull gives the reigning champion a title winning car, there would be no reason to back such a move. While admitting that wearing the all-red suit is a dream of Vettel's, Horner believes the 23-year old German could put Red Bull in the history books if he stays.

Just because he's romantic doesn't mean he's going to give up everything that we have built together,” said Horner in a recent interview with Germany's Bild newspaper. “As long as we offer him the perfect car, he will stay here.

We are regarded more as the cool team. But who knows, maybe one day we will also be legendary – thanks to Sebastian,” added Horner, hinting that Ferrari's name is what lures drivers to throw themselves at the opportunity to driver for the Maranello team, rather than performance.

Fernando Alonso recently revealed that all drivers in the paddock dream to drive for Ferrari one day (with no exception), but only few have the courage to admit it.

All drivers have that dream,” he said in a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport in Italy. “Some actually say it, but all think of it.
