Red Bull, Toro Rosso also Commit to Conditional Entries

Just as in Ferrari's case, both Red Bull backed teams inside the Formula One Championship – Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso – have announced they will not race in 2010 unless the conditions attached to their May 29th entries will be met.

The reason why the two teams, along with Ferrari, have not been handed provisional entries by the FIA earlier today was the fact that all three teams are currently part of several commercial agreements with the Formula One Management (FOM) and the FIA. Nevertheless, they insist they'll maintain their conditional entry and stick with the fellow FOTA members regardless of the FIA announcement on Friday.

Following the FIA's publication of the entry list for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, Red Bull Racing would like to make it clear that its entry was submitted as a conditional entry, consistent with those of all other FOTA members. Red Bull Racing remains committed to FOTA and fully endorses all its principles," said a statement from the Milton Keynes based team.

Following the FIA's publication of the entry list for the 2010 FIA Formula One World Championship, Scuderia Toro Rosso would like to make it clear that its entry was submitted as a conditional entry, consistent with those of all other FOTA members. Scuderia Toro Rosso remains committed to FOTA and fully endorses all its principles,” stated the almost identical statement released by Toro Rosso a few minutes ago.

So we're practically in the same point as this morning, as the publication of the official 2010 entry list has only given us the teams that will NOT make the 2010 roster (Prodrive being the most unexpected call) and the name of a new engine supplier, namely Cosworth.

The FIA and the FOTA are to meet for further discussions during the course of the upcoming week in order to find a solution to the new (actually, the same) problem. It is expected that, on June 19th, the 5 teams currently under “provisional” status will be given a clear answer by the FIA on whether they'll be accepted for the 2010 season or not.
