Red Bull to Improve RB5's Standings Start this Weekend

Red Bull Racing have a busy weekend ahead of them – not that this wasn't the case until now, only this time it involves inline on-track testing. Both Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber were summoned by their team to test the title contending RB5 at the Idiada Proving Ground, near Barcelona.

According to internal sources from Red Bull, it seems the two drivers will work to improve the car's efficiency from a standing start. This proved to be a real problem for Mark Webber during the course of last weekend, when he almost lost two positions at the start of the German Grand Prix, despite starting from pole position.

The testing this weekend means 22-year old Vettel will have to cancel his appearance at the Ennstal-Classic rally, scheduled this weekend in Austria. Both the German and Webber are to test the RB5 on Saturday.

The world championship is entering a crucial stage. That a test like this has priority (over the Ennstal-Classic) is clear to us. Obviously it is a shame, but we are talking about the world championship,” Red Bull's advisor Helmut Marko was quoted as saying by Germany's Sport Bild.

Red Bull's sister team Toro Rosso are also to test their latest aerodynamic updates – brought to the STR4 for the Hungarian race – this weekend, at the Vairano circuit in Italy, with Spanish teenager Jaime Alguersuari likely to get behind the wheel during the straight-line session. The 19-year old is also in pole position to replace departed Sebastien Bourdais at STR for the Hungaroring race.
