Infiniti Red Bull Racing team launched the RB9 2013 Formula 1 car in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom. With Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber pulling back the sheet to reveal the car, the new RB9 was described as a revolutionary racing car by engineer and chief technical officer Adrian Newey.
Due to stability of this year's regulation, the RB9 isn't much different from the World Championship winning RB8. The most noticeable changes are the narrower rear end, seen on the other competitor cars as well so far, and the purple sidepods wearing the new main sponsor Infiniti.
Chief Adrian Newey, who's pondering about changing the nose and front wing throughout the season, also emphasized the new Pirelli tyres the RB9 was fitted with: "Pirelli have supplied us data about how the new tyres behave, but past experience tells us it's only when we go testing that we really find out."
No matter what the RB9 has in stock, one thing is more than obvious: the new Infiniti sponsored race car has big shoes to fill, as Red Bull is starting the 2013 season with three consecutive Drivers' and Constructors' World Championship titles.
Driving duties for Red Bull Racing this season were handed once again to reigning champion Sebastian Vettel and his Australian team mate Mark Webber.
