Red Bull Praises Unfit Webber for Germany Win

There are few people in the Great Circle more happy right now than Red Bull's team principal Christian Horner. The Milton Keynes team this year recorded no less than three 1-2s and are now less than 20 points behind Brawn GP in the constructors' standings. And the latest win coming from Mark Webber impressed the hell out of Horner.

While still not fully recovered from his Tasmania Challenge cycling accident last November – that kept Webber into hospital throughout the winter break – the Aussie owned the German Grand Prix this weekend, winning the Nurburgring race in a dominant manner. This could only mean Webber's best is yet to come, which makes Horner even more optimistic for the future.

I think lying in a hospital bed in Tasmania in November, he could never have dreamed about today. Certainly we had some concerns, because he forgot to tell us that he broke his shoulder as well,” said Horner after the race, according to British publication Autosport.

So, the comeback that he has had has been remarkable – and it is testimony to his determination and commitment that he has got himself back, he has got himself fit and he is driving better than ever,” added Horner.

Horner also revealed, to the aforementioned magazine, that Webber's level of physical fitness is not even close to the one 12 months ago, as he said the 32-year old is still “carrying an extra bit of ballast in his leg” and “cannot run”.

This was the second consecutive racing weekend that Red Bull showed some dominant pace ahead of their Brawn GP rivals, with Webber and Vettel moving up in the standings ahead of Rubens Barrichello. And it only brings more joy on Horner's face.

I think we have taken 20 points in the last three weekends out of them, so I think that our car is working very well. It is working well in a multitude of conditions. I think that we have got a car that we should be able to fight them in all conditions. We are pushing them very hard on development,” added the Red Bull boss.
