Red Bull Needs Webber to Recover Form in 2011

Having a dominant driver and a lieutenant in the team doesn't work as a strategy for Red Bull Racing in the Formula 1 series, as they proved last year that only by getting both drivers into the title fight until the end can bring them joy in both the drivers' and constructors' races.

That being said, nobody at Milton Keynes should be happy with how things are going for Mark Webber after 2 rounds this season, as the Australian is not even close to matching the pace of his teammate and reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel.

While Vettel won consecutive races in Melbourne and Sepang, Webber recorded a 5th and a 4th place, respectively, giving hope to Red Bull's rivals that the Austrian squad is not as uncatchable as predicted by some a few weeks back. And team principal Christian Horner vowed to resolve that issue, saying he'll do anything in his power to bring Webber back into the title game.

The only problem is how to get Mark Webber back in the picture,” said Horner in a recent interview with Italy's Corrier della Sera. “He is one of the strongest drivers and I know he will get back. (...) We need them both.”

In addition, Horner also referred to Red Bull's long-term strategy in Formula 1, saying that the Austrian energy drinks company aims to set up a winning legacy in the sport.

We want to do it in our own way and create a legacy for Red Bull. Lewis Hamilton was quite right when he said that we're only a drinks manufacturer. So far so good. It's great to win, just like Benetton, which was only a jumper maker,” he added.
