It looks like radial airplane "star" engines are becoming more and more popular among certain lovers of custom bikes. Far from being a new thing, seeing a bike powered by such an engine is always a striking experience.
This time it's the notorious German magazine Motorrad doing a feature on radial engines used for motorcycling purposes. Both the builder of this extreme beast and his bike, which is only natural called the Red Baron are German, and watching the machine ride away makes us wonder if is street-legal.

We're not sure about the road regulations and emissions in Germany, but seeing how much smoke the Red Baron makes at startup, we really doubt the Polizei will just smile when they see it thundering away.

Legal or not, we just love these truly extreme bikes and believe that riding such a machine is a truly shaking experience. Properly shaking, that is...
