“Gangnam Style” is a single by South Korean rapper PSY that quickly became all the rage on the internet. Honestly, we still don’t get what it’s all about and why it managed to become the most popular clip in Youtube history, racking up over a 1 billion views in a short amount of time.
But for the sake of entertaining journalism, we’ll just focus on the car part of the clio. At the 40-second mark in the music video, we can see PSY is approached by a Korean comedian Yoo Jae-Suk, who’s dressed in bright yellow and drives a new Mercedes convertible.
The car in question is a brand new, third generation Mercedes SLK roadster, fitted with a cool vario roof that opens hydraulically at the touch of a button in a matter of seconds.
The car that has been viewed a billion times is an SLK 200 model, fitted with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 184 hp to the rear wheels and consumes only 6.1 l/100km, equivalent to emissions of 142 grams of CO2 per kilometer.
We’ve searched high and low and found that the SLK-Class is only sold in this form in Korea. Prices there start at 66,700,000 South Korean won, which is €46,800 or $62,180 at the current exchange rate. Dancing man not included!
