Mercedes-Benz has just recorded its most successful first half in the UK marketplace, with deliveries of 53,686 vehicles, as well as the best second quarter results with 25,470 cars registered in April through June.
The C-Class Coupé, E-Class Coupé and Saloon, the CLS-Class and SL-Class all saw significant gains during the month that just ended. For instance, the Mercedes saw almost triple the demand for SL Roadsters as their impressive two-seater took 36.8 percent of the market segment.

Likewise, the recently reinvented compact segment saw strong demand. Sales of the B-Class rose 41.1 percent while the A-Class was similarly strong. AMG performance vehicles grew 51.1 percent with the E63 AMG saloon at the forefront. Overall, a whooping 1,485 AMG have been registered in Britain so far this year.

"Strong individual performances by key models across our passenger car and commercial vehicle operations, such as the Citan van, the new E-Class Saloon and the Actros as well as the continued great gains by AMG gave us a record performance in June and in the second quarter of the year. As we introduce the full range of A-Class models, build up volume on the CLA-Class and we look ahead to the arrival of the new S-Class later in the year, our diversity of products allows us to set new benchmarks and post a significant year-on-year gain and out-perform the market once again," said Marcus Breitschwerdt, President and CEO Mercedes-Benz UK.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
