Record Attendance at the 2013 BMW Motorrad Days

The Bavarian manufacturer is thrilled to announce a record-breaking attendance for this year's BMW Motorrad Days: more than 40,000 visitors came over the weekend to the even in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in one of Germany's most awesome scenic places, at the foot of the land's highest peak, the Zugspitze (2,961m/9,714ft).

Famous as a winter resort and sports turnkey center, Garmisch-Partenkirchen is, as of this year, one of the biggest names in European motorcycle rallies, too.

BMW showed the K1600GT Sport to told you about earlier, as well as the new liveries for the updated 2014 machines. One of the best bikes in the show was the Concept Ninety, the anniversary bike created by the iconic American customizer Roland Sands.

Music, races such as the Classic Boxer Sprint, motorcycle stunts and celebrities, the 2013 BMW Motorrad Days had them all. The event brought racing VIPs such as Marco Melandri and Chaz Davies from the WSBK, Valerie Thompson, Roland Sands of RSD and more.

According to BMW, more than 2,400 people got to test ride new machinery and this is simply HUGE. The BMW C Evolution electric scooter was also presented to the public. And to get the big picture...
  • 10,000 pretzels
  • 4,400 lbs. (2,000 kg) of potato salad
  • 3,100 lbs. (1,400 kg) of pork knuckles
  • 4,800 halves of chicken
  • 660 lbs. (300 kg) of scrambled eggs
  • 1,500 burgers
  • 1,300 lbs. (600 kg) of “Leberkaese” (German meatloaf)
  • 6,600 gallons (25,000 liters) of beer, from official BMW sources.
