Realflex Reflective Materials for Better Visibility at Night

Well, before proceeding any further we should stress that we really liked to see silly French law projects go down in flames. This piece is simply informative, so no teeth snapping, please.
Well, if you've ridden your motorcycle for some time now, you should already know that visibility at dusk, or just about daybreak is really poor for everyone, bikers and pedestrians, car drivers and bicycle riders alike. Hamburg-based German company be8lich offers Realflex, a new product designed to enhance visibility under critical lighting conditions.

Basically it's about being seen from a great distance in poor light or at night, no matter whether you're riding a bike or motorcycle or are just jogging. The special-design armbands and leg pieces can be worn directly on the skin in the warm season, or on top of clothing pieces.

The glass powder-based fabric has three layers: a textile support, an aluminium foil layer and the highly reflective glass powder. Even in dim light, the Realflex is visible from about 100m (300 ft) and this might be really helpful in a lot of situations.

Realflex fabric is washable, retains its shape and the reflective index is not affected by water. For those concerned about their safety, such an arm piece could really be a valuable accessory. We also thought it's quite ok to wear such an armband for city rider during summer, when the jacket stays at home. But again, it's up to each rider. We now have the technology.
