RC Pulse Jet Car Is a Fail, But a Funny One

If you thought that combustion engines with piston were the best thing to use for your RC car.... you’re right, ignore the video if you’re serious about this sort of stuff. However, if you like a bit of Mithbusters-style mixing and matching, the RC pulse jet car will bring out your inner child.
Before you watch, we’ll have to tell you a little bit about what a pulse jet engine is, and how it works. It’s basically just a long tube, there’s nothing in there, but the way it’s shaped and built is very critical. The cylinder in the front is the combustion engine that has basically no moving parts, unlike a turbine. To start it, they have to force air down the front and then use a spark to light it. As the hot gases race out the back, the engine sucks up more air from the front.

We’d call the video a fail, because the RC truck gets destroyed without ever managing to go fast, and the pulse jet engine should be a good few hundred of dollars.

We don't think a kid's budget would ever stretch that far, so they failed to deliver on a dream that must fill thousand of little minds.
